Johnnie Carroll Collins

Johnnie Carroll Collins, age 69, of Gatesville, passed away Sunday at a local hospital. Services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at Scott’s Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Johnnie was born June 20, 1938 in Coleman County, Texas. He was the son of Vernon B. Collins and Ora Irene Sluder Collins. Johnnie worked at Western Auto, White Auto and Hale Seed. He loved to fish and was a loving husband, father, brother and friend to everyone. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister. Survivors include wife; Rosalie Collins, step daughters; Brenda Keeton, Bonnie Watson and Barbara Kunkel, sisters; Viola Howard and companion Richard Vanjoske, Barbara Wiggins and husband Bill: Wanda Shelton, brothers; Floyd Collins and wife Alice, Dick Collins and Robert Collins and wife Kathy, eight grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
