Jeraldene Barnard Cole

Jeraldene Barnard Cole, age 85, of Flat passed away Thursday, June 6, 2013. Funeral services will be 3:00PM, Sunday, June 9, 2013 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel with Walter Davidson officiating. Burial will follow at Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00PM, Saturday, June 8, 2013 at the funeral home. Jeraldene was born on March 16, 1928 in Mound, Texas to the late Sam and Ina Cummings Barnard. She attended school in Mound, graduating from Gatesville High School in 1945. She married Felix Royl (Preacher) Cole, Jr. on April 27, 1946 in Gatesville. She was a member of Flat Baptist Church. Jeraldene was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three brothers, Case Barnard, Chick Barnard, and Sterlin Barnard; three sisters, Della Marshall, Stella McFarlin, and Hellen Cole; grandson, Brandon John Cole; and son-in-law, Bill Smith. Jeraldene is survived by her sons, Roy Cole and wife, Trisha of Flat and Randy Cole and wife, Kathy of Gatesville; daughter, Gaylene Smith of Gatesville; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
