William D. (Bill) Cathey

William D. (Bill) Cathey, age 78, of Gatesville passed away Thursday, June 6, 2013. Funeral services will be 10:00AM, Monday, June 10, 2013 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery. There is no set time for visitation. Bill was born on June 24, 1934 to William Albert and Qmy Blundell Cathey. He lived in the Turnersville, Texas community and graduated from Turnersville High School in 1952. After graduating, he moved to Fort Worth to find work. He was called to serve his country in the US Army from 1956-1959. Upon his return from the Army, he married LuWin Perryman from Gatesville, Texas in 1959. For many years they made their home in the suburbs of Fort Worth called Richland Hills. Bill, as he was known by many of his friends, worked for City of Fort Worth and Coca-Cola Bottling Company, where he retired. Bill and Luwin were active in the Englewood Methodist Church and enjoyed square dancing. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Luwin Cathey; and his parents. Bill is survived by his son, Bryon Cathey and wife, Debra of Fort Worth, daughter, Tracie Good of Arkansas; five grandchildren, Seth, Katherine, Kristyn, Bronica and Justyn.
