Virginia Martel Wolverton

Virginia Martel Wolverton, age 72, of Gatesville passed away June 14, 2013. Funeral services will be 10:00a.m., Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Scott’s Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Crosby officiating. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 – 10:00a.m., Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at the funeral home. Virginia was born on December 2, 1940 in Lexington, Oklahoma to the late Louis and Vergie Scott Jeter. She worked for T.D.C.J. in the psychiatric center. Virginia married Joe Wolverton on December 12, 1991 after meeting at the psychiatric center where they both worked. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Linda Parsons. Virginia is survived by her husband, Joe Wolverton; sons, Stephen Sumner and wife, Cathy and Carl Sumner and companion, Kim Perry; daughter, Wendy Sumner Jamison; brothers, Wesley Jeter and Charles Jeter; and three grandchildren, Sydney Sumner, Blake Jamison, and Brandon Smith.
