Remington Shea Earnest Bond Bird, age 27, of Gatesville passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2013. Funeral services will be 2:00p.m., Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Deral McWhorter officiating. Burial will follow at Davidson Cemetery. Visitation will be 12:00 noon to 2:00p.m. prior to the service. Remington was born on September 26, 1985 in Waco, Texas to Kenneth Ray Bird and Jessie Joye Massingill Bird. He graduated from Gatesville High School in 2004. He attended Saint Edwards University in Austin and the University of North Texas in Denton. He loved to write, listen to music, and enjoyed sports. Remington loved all of his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Bird. Remington is survived by his mother, Joye Thackston and husband, Doug; sisters, Kelly Leigh Fannin and husband Tony and Kimberly Lynn Dulak and husband, Ray; brother, Kenneth Ray Bird; step-brothers, Steve Thackston and wife, Cindy, John Thackston and wife, Kathy, and Ron Thackston and wife, Becky; step-sisters, Cathy Reed and husband, Bruce, Kelly Slovak and husband, Danny, Kim Simer and husband, Darrell; nieces and nephews, Jordan Koslovsky, Taylor Ross, Lyndsay Vasser, Kayla Roebuck, Audrey Bird, Jake Fannin, Elizabeth Fannin and numerous aunts and uncles.
