Evelyn Clawson

Evelyn Clawson, age 97, of Gatesville passed away Monday, July 29, 2013. Funeral services will be 1:00p.m., Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Flint Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 -7:00p.m., Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at the funeral home. Evelyn was born on February 22, 1916 in The Grove, Texas to the late Beecher and Edith Brazzil Adams. She was raised in The Grove. She married Burris Clawson on November 16, 1935 in The Grove, where they resided until 1957. They moved to Temple, residing there until 2009. She was a member of Cold Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burris Clawson; and daughter, Donna Davis. Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Watts and husband, Donald of Owl Creek; son-in-law, Jack Davis; grandchildren, Jackie Watts and wife, Schree and David Watts and wife, Brenda, all of Gatesville; great-grandchildren, Mandy Dudik and husband, Jeff of Owl Creek, Scotty Watts and wife, Amy of Glen Rose, and Angela Anderson and husband, Moe; and great-great-granchildren, Kari, Jessy Ann, Dylan, Angel, and Ashley.
