Sue Turner

Sue Turner, age 77, of Gatesville passed away Thursday, August 1, 2013. Funeral services will be 2:00p.m., Monday, August 5, 2013 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 – 4:00p.m., Sunday, August 4, 2013 at the funeral home. Sue was born on February 23, 1936 in Haslet, Texas to the late Walter and Vivian Jones Doyle. She attended school in Evant, and then graduated salutatorian from the high school in Pierce, Oklahoma in 1954. Sue married Bennie Mack Turner the day after her high school graduation. She moved back to Gatesville for a few years, and then moved to the Fort Worth area for several years before moving back to Coryell County. Sue worked several years at T.D.C.J., retiring in 1995. She loved gardening, fishing, and tending to her yard and home. She was a faithful member of Gatesville Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2009; parents; one brother, Wayne Doyle; and one granddaughter, Abbey Nicole Rader. Sue is survived by her daughters, Deborah Jacks, Kay Turner, and Kelly Dickie; sisters, Colleen Troutt and husband, Delton and Ann Coble; brother, Ken Doyle and wife, Cheryl; grandchildren, Mistie Dakroub, Michelle West, Capt. William Jason Patrick, and Megan Dickie; and five great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Gatesville Church of Christ, 2417 E.
