Margaret Louise Cook Yows, 69, a long time Gatesville resident, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2013 in Sugar Land, Texas. Margaret was loved deeply by both family and friends. Margaret was born on July 23, 1944 at St. Theresa Hospital in Beaumont, TX to Laddie Mae Taylor Cook and Fred Robert Cook, Jr. Margaret and her family lived in Beaumont and Pt. Neches, Texas until 1956, before they moved to Texas City. She attended Heights Elementary, then Levi Fry Junior High. She graduated from Texas City High School in 1962. She was active in Rainbow Girls, Junior Achievement, and was in the marching band. Margaret met and married her husband, Trent Yows, the love of her life, in 1966. Together, they lived in Texas City, Austin, Corpus Christi, Lampasas, Arlington, and Houston. She built a long and successful career with Southwestern Bell, notably managing the coin phone operations in and around Texas. She and her husband, Trent, both worked at Southwestern Bell. They loved their jobs, the company, and made many lifelong friends. She retired from Southwestern Bell in 1987, her lifelong employer, where she was remembered by co-workers as talented and hardworking manager. In her retirement, Margaret and Trent lived on his family farm on Moccasin Bend Road in Gatesville, Texas, where they enjoyed working, farming, and raising cattle, as well as spending time with friends camping around the country. They moved to Turnersville, Texas in 2008. Above all her favorite pastimes, she put at the top of her list spending as much time as she could with her family, especially her nieces and nephews, providing love and affection that will be remembered for their entire lives. Margaret worshipped her Lord at Coryell Community Church, in Gatesville, where she and Trent were members. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Trent Otis Yows; her parents, Fred Robert Cook, Jr. and Laddie Mae Taylor Cook. Margaret is survived by her brothers, Charles F.
