Robbie Timmons

Robbie Timmons, age 78, of Gatesville passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2013. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Ater Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, November 8, 2013 at Scott’s Funeral Home. Robbie was born on October 16, 1935 in the Cold Springs community of Coryell County to the late Ernest and Unia Beasley Whaley. She grew up in Jonesboro and graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1954. She married Billy Timmons on May 29, 1954, and they resided in Gatesville most of their married life. She was an aide at Gatesville Jr. High for 29 years and worked at Wal-Mart for 18 years. Robbie was a member of Mountain Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Timmons on April 13, 1988; sisters, Velma Massingill, Ernestine Shelton, Vera Faye Payne; and brothers, Hoyett Wood and Jim “Trussie” Wood. Robbie is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Wittie and husband, Danny of Gatesville; son, Scott Timmons and wife, Teresa of Gatesville; sister, Era Mae Stubblefield of Polock, Texas; brother, Otis Whaley of Seguin; twin brother, Bob Whaley of Hamilton; five grandchildren, Dana and Ray Don Wittie, Patricia Wittie, and Preston and Brooklyn Timmons; and five great-grandchildren, Kirsten, Ryan, and Ryder Wittie, Nathan Kizer, and Lilly Goins.
