Aubrey K. (Shorty) Arnold

Aubrey K. (Shorty) Arnold, age 83, of Gatesville passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2014. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 3, 2014 at Evant United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery in Evant. There is no set time for visitation. Aubrey was born on February 14, 1930 in Evant, Texas to the late John W. and Amy Brown Arnold. He graduated from Evant High School in 1947. Aubrey served in the Korean Conflict from 1952 to 1954. He was a farmer and rancher. He owned and operated nursing homes for over 40 years. He was a member of Evant United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Angela; and brothers, J.W. Arnold and L.J. Arnold. Aubrey is survived by his wife, Inez Freeman Arnold; sons, Ashley Arnold and Johnny Arnold; nephews, Gary Arnold and Ronald Arnold; nieces, Rebecca Schneider, Louise Golden, and Melissa Vaculin; and sister-in-law, Catherine Arnold.
