Lura Imogene Sims

Lura Imogene Sims, age 87, of Gatesville passed away, Wednesday, January 1, 2014. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service. Imogene was born on May 30, 1926 in Purmela, Texas to the late Ralph and Rosalee Tipton Baker. She attended school in the Gatesville area before marrying Olen Sims in 1947. They moved to Midland in 1947, where her husband was a postman. Imogene was a beautician while in Midland. They moved back to Gatesville in the 1980’s. She was a member of Westview Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Olen on November 4, 1995; and all of her siblings, she was the last of 10 children. Imogene is survived by her sister-in-law, Grace Baker of Gatesville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Harmony Baptist Church, c/o A. C. Painter, 4921 E.
