Jesse Bruce "Buddy" Watson, 82 of Hewitt, Texas passed peacefully at his home surrounded by his family and loved ones on January 10th, 2014. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 14th at Scott's Funeral Home in Gatesville from 6-8 PM. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 15th at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Bruce Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery. Buddy was born September 13, 1931 in Rockdale Texas. Buddy and his brother Robert grew up in Waco, Texas with their parents Wallace "Fred" and Willie Watson. Buddy had many careers in his lifetime, including Sears Automotive as service manager and a truck driver for Katy Railroad and Conway Trucking Company. He took pride in his work and as a result won many awards. Buddy and close friend Elmer Franks worked cattle side by side for many years. He was a wonderful father, grandfather and friend. Buddy was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Robert. Survivors include his devoted companion Laneva Franks; sons, Mark Watson and wife Claudette of Little Elm, Jay Watson and wife Kim of Granbury, Stanley Parker and wife of Waco; daughters, Haila Mahan and husband Mike of Golinda, Reesa Allwine and husband Rick of Wiley Ford, West Virginia, Kaye Meredith of Waco; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces. Also, his extended family, Wayne and Pat Franks, Kay and Leroy Heiner, Onita Franks as well as all of the Franks family. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Wilma Moore, his loving caregiver for the last 5 years. We also deeply appreciate the care and services provided by Texas Home Health Hospice.
