Vance Edward Freeman

Vance Edward Freeman, age 49, of Temple passed away Saturday, February 1, 2014. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Pearl Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 8, 2014 at the funeral home. Vance was born on June 5, 1964 in Gatesville, Texas to Melvyn and Beverly Knowles Freeman. He was known for his masonry work and generosity to help others in need. He enjoyed music and spending time with friends and family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly J. McConnell; paternal grandparents, Byron Edward Freeman and Lola Mae Freeman; maternal grandparents, Novella Chambers and Adney Chambers, Sr.; uncle, David Freeman; aunt, Sharon Gentile. Vance is survived by his father, Melvyn Freeman; sister, Kimberly Copeland; brothers, Doug Ford and Dannie Ford; aunt, June Chambers; uncle, Adney Chambers, Jr.; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews; and dog, Buster. Memorials may be made to Temple or Gatesville Boys and Girls Club.
