Varnell Wolff, age 91, of Gatesville passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2014. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Flint Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 – 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 8, 2014 at the funeral home. Varnell was born on March 26, 1922 in Coryell County, Texas to the late James and Lela Whaley Glass. She married Fred (Buck) Wolff in 1941. She worked in several grocery stores in Gatesville and as a custodian at Gatesville I. S. D. Varnell was a member of Cold Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred (Buck) Wolff in 1989; and sons, Jackie Wolff and Jerry (Buster) Wolff. Varnell is survived by her daughters, Joan Taylor of Gatesville and Karen White and husband, Charlie of Pecos; son, Kermit Wolff of Gatesville; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
