Joseph Fry

Joseph “Joe” Frye, 61, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2014 at his home in Gatesville. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Scott’s Funeral Home in Gatesville with Rev. Tim Crosby officiating. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 from 5-7 PM at the funeral home. Joe was born on July 26, 1952 in Gatesville. He graduated from Gatesville High School in 1970. He will be remembered for his love for the Lord. Joe looked for an opportunity in every situation to share the Good News of Jesus. He was not afraid to minister to those when others may not. He was a giving person always concerned about others needs above his own. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Gatesville but led many bible studies outside the church and even was a pastor for a short time. Joe loved to fish and was an outstanding musician. He loved to give drum lessons and will be remembered as one on the best drummers around. He will also be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor. Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Emma Frye. Joe is survived by his father, LeRoy Frye; sister, Virginia Miller and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be given to Trinity Baptist Church, 1518 W. Main Street, Gatesville, TX 76528.
