Billie Dorsey

Billie Dorsey, age 86, of Gatesville passed away Friday, March 14, 2014. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Restland Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 17, 2014 at Scott’s Funeral Home.Billie was born on May 6, 1927 in Floyd, Texas to the late Charlie and Nolia Brock Cooper. She graduated from Godley High School in 1944. She married Raymond Mohundro who passed away in 1952. Billie had a grocery store in Pancake, and then moved to Gatesville where she worked in Dr. Pack’s office. She later worked at the Chateau Ville Restaurant. She married William M. Dorsey on August 19, 1970; she worked in the Dorsey Repair Shop in Gatesville. They later moved to Houston, where her husband worked for the Windham School District. He retired in 2000, and then they traveled for five years to be the visiting hosts at many state parks in Texas and Virginia. They returned home to Gatesville in 2005.  She was preceded in death by one sister, Cicie Cooley.Billie is survived by her husband of 43 years, William Dorsey; sons, Charles Ray Mohundro and wife, Janet and David Lynn Mohundro and wife, Kay; three grandchildren, Zachary Mohundro and wife, Jennifer, Coby Mohundro, and Allison Wilkerson and husband, Jared; and seven great-grandchildren.Memorials may be made to Hay Valley Baptist Church, 3110 Hay Valley Rd., Gatesville, TX 76528.
