Weldon Sheldon, age 87, of Evant died Saturday, April 12, 2014 at a hospital in Hamilton. Graveside Services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Hurst Ranch Cemetery in Star, Texas. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, April 14, 2014 at Scott’s Funeral Home in Gatesville.Mr. Sheldon was born on July 11, 1926 to the late Chester and Beatrice Arnold Sheldon in Evant, TX. He was reared and attended school in Evant. He was a farmer and a rancher. He served his country in the U.S. Navy at the end of WW II. He married the former Virgie Soules, and they resided at Evant.He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Leslie Sheldon of Evant and Elbert Sheldon of Gatesville.Survivors include his wife, Virgie (Soules) Sheldon of Cornerstone Gardens in Temple; daughters, Charlotte Looney and husband, Robert of Austin, Sue Turner of Austin, and Beverly Rodgers of Temple; grandchildren, Sheldon Bennight of Houston, Shelley (Bennight) Barrett and husband, Johnny of Stephenville, Jason Rodgers and wife, Barbara of Converse, and Melissa Ronacher and husband, Kurt of Lafayette, Colorado; great-grandchildren, Gracie and Jett Barrett, Micah Rodgers, and Kaylin and McKenzie Ronacher; sister, Eva White of Abilene; and two sisters-in-law, Letha Sheldon of Evant and Nellie Sheldon of Gatesville.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hurst Ranch Cemetery, c/o Kirby Moore, P.O.
