Connie Morse, 52, passed away at her home in Flat on July 30, 2008 after a 20 year battle with cancer. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday August 2, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Gatesville with a private family burial following in Pidcoke Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Friday at Scott’s Funeral Home. Connie was born on August 21, 1955 to the late Wilson and Laura Pearl Hoosier Whigham in Gatesville. She began her lifelong career at Vogue Beauty Shop in 1976, after completing beauty school in Temple. Connie and Audine Necessary worked with Bess Bond until they purchased the business together in 1989. Connie retired last year after working more than 30 years. She married James Morse on July 4, 1982. Throughout her life, Connie was a servant. She was always helping someone else even when she needed to rest. She cared for countless number of people while silently in pain herself. She cared and loved others because of the love and faith she had in Jesus. Connie was a member of First Baptist Church of Flat and a member of the Eastern Star in Gatesville. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Nelda Maxwell and a brother, Truman Maxwell. Connie is survived by her husband, James Morse; best friend, Audine Necessary and husband Jerry of Gatesville; children, Mindy Eads of Gatesville, Sherrie Sheets and husband Keith of Flat, Eric Vogt and wife Wendy of Flat; a grandson whom she raised, Cory Ayers of Gatesville; sister, Sammie Shreeve and husband, Steve of Austin; 17 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
