Willie Emma Conner

Willie Emma Conner, age 94, of Gatesville passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Bee House Cemetery. There is no set time for visitation. Willie was born on December 30, 1919 in Pidcoke, Texas; she was the daughter of the late Lee and Marguerite Basham. Willie married E.J. Conner on November 6, 1940. She was a hard-working mother and grandmother and loyal friend to many. She enjoyed collecting things at garage sales and loved to find a bargain. She was a member of Fort Gates Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, E. J. Conner in 1977; son, Burnard Lee Conner in 2003; and numerous brothers and sisters. Willie is survived by her grandchildren, Kelly Conner Andress of Zanesville, Ohio, Twila Conner Williams and husband, Philip of Temple, Texas, Randol Conner and wife, Patty of Hamilton, Texas; 10 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Dottie Faucett.
