Robert "Bob" Wallace

Bob Wallace, 84, of Gatesville passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2014 in Temple. Funeral Services will be at 3:00 PM on Monday, May 26, 2014 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Greenbriar Cemetery. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service. Bob was born on March 8, 1930 to the late Russell and Elizabeth Cooper Wallace in Beaumont, TX. He attended school in Hardin County and after high school he joined the United States Navy. Bob served his country from 1948-1953 and while serving in England he met Carol Curtis. They married in 1953 in Beaumont. In 1960, they decided to move to Gatesville to raise their family and he began his career at Texas Youth Council, which later became part of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Bob retired after 30 years. After retirement, he and his wife enjoyed traveling, farming and ranching. Bob will always be remembered as a family man. Bob is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carol; son, John Wallace; 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Bob is survived by his children, Robert Wallace, Jr. and wife Suzanne, Alan Wallace and wife, Selma, Kathryn Warren and husband, David, Glenn Wallace and wife, Tammy, David Wallace and wife Audra, and Brenda Fread and husband Ray; 21 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
