Nadine (Dean Dean) Millsap, age 81, of Waco died peacefully Thursday, June 19, 2014. Graveside services will be 4:30 p.m., Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Restland Cemetery in Gatesville. Visitation will be 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Scott’s Funeral Home in Gatesville. Nadine was born to the late Herbert C. McCarver and Edith Hagan McCarver on November 18, 1932 in Gatesville, Texas. She graduated from Gatesville High School in 1950 and married the love of her life, Junior Millsap on December 26, of the same year. He preceded her in death September 26, 1972. Nadine was employed at the National Bank of Gatesville for almost 20 years, before leaving to devote more time to her family. In the 1980’s, she moved to Waco to be near her family and job. After 26 years of service at the VA Regional Office, she retired on April 30, 2014. Nadine is survived by her daughter, Diana Goff and husband, John Paul Goff; granddaughters, Heather Deal and Nicole Rhodes and husband, Jeremy; great-grandchildren, Austan Michael Deal, Kodi Lynn Rhodes, and Kooper Lane Rhodes; also Heather’s family, Vernon Coplen, Deanie, William, Hayley, Tristian, and Tyler Coplen, all of Lorena; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank St. Catherine’s Acute Care and Providence Hospice RN’s, Ronnie, Angella and CNA, Yarnell for their compassionate professionalism and loving care; Dr. Ed Carpenter of Waco Gastroenterology; and Jeffery Arnold, M.D. and Staff. A special thank you to Dr. Lawrence Canning, retired Oncologist, for giving us an additional 25 years with Nadine after defeating lung cancer in 1988. Memorials may be made to Providence Hospice or to the charity of your choice.
