William (Bill) Harold King

William (Bill) Harold King, age 73, of Oglesby passed away Friday, June 20, 2014. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 23, 2014 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel. Masonic graveside services will follow at Post Oak Cemetery in Oglesby. Visitation will be 3:00 – 5:00 p.m., Sunday, June 22, 2014 at the funeral home. Bill was born on October 31, 1940 in Oglesby, Texas to the late Luther King and Maggie Smith King. He attended school and graduated from Oglesby High School. Bill married Sandra McCain on February 14, 1970. He worked for Gardner Engineering for 20 years and was a civil servant at Fort Hood for 22 years, retiring in 2004. He was a member of McGregor Masonic Lodge, A.F. & A.M #376. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Jennifer Rothrock and Stephanie King; and twin brother, Sonny King. Bill is survived by his wife, Sandra King; one son, Matthew King of Frisco; three grandchildren, Evan William King, Justin Blake Rothrock, and Lauren Chapman; great-grandchildren, Macie Chapman, Wyatt Herrin, and Braxton Rothrock; four sisters, Marie Edwards of Oglesby, Frances Cowart of Oglesby, Bebe Penton of Temple, Katie Rockwood of Gatesville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
