Wilma Colvin Edwards, age 86, of Gatesville passed away Friday, August 1, 2014. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Restland Cemetery. Wilma was born on January 14, 1928 in Killeen, Texas to the late Barney McClinton Colvin and Lola Norine Brashear Colvin. She grew up in Gatesville, graduating from Gatesville High School in 1945. She married Stanley Thomas Edwards on January 23, 1947. She was a charter member of the James Coryell Chapter of the N.S.D.A.R., serving as Regent and in other capacities as well. She was awarded the Martha Washington Award by the S.A.R. Wilma was a noted genealogist and volunteer at the Coryell Museum and Historical Center. She was an avid gardener, cultivating many heritage and preservationist flowers and plants passed along through family and friends through the generations. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gatesville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Thomas Edwards in January 23, 1997; daughter, Pamela Edwards; sister, Nella Wilson, and brother, B.M. Colvin, Jr. Wilma is survived by her son, Stanley Paul Edwards of Dallas; daughters, Christy Edwards Garner and husband, Robert of Harker Heights and Sylvia Edwards and husband, Amjad Khan of Austin; grandchildren, Colleen Garner, Anna Leigh Sanders, Thomas Garner, Adam Khan, Joshua Edwards, and Tyler Edwards; and great-grandchildren, Ian Sanders and Zak Sanders.
