Ima Gene Altum

Ima Gene Altum, 80, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at her home in Copperas Cove. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Scott’s Funeral Home in Gatesville with Rev. Thomas Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home. Ima Gene was born on January 11, 1934 in The Grove to the late Elbert and Estella Ray Stuteville. She married Robert Gail Altum on July 7, 1950 in Gatesville. Ima Gene worked for AAFES on Ft. Hood for 23 years and was a resident of Copperas Cove since 1956. Ima Gene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gail Altum; and a sister, Bonnie Sexton. Ima Gene is survived by her sons, Kenneth Altum of Owl Creek, Tommy Altum and wife, Gretchen of Copperas Cove, Frankie Altum and wife, Angelika (Gig) of Copperas Cove, J.R. Altum of Copperas Cove, Gary Altum and Teresa of Lampasas County; sisters, Alma Minshew, Winona Gossett and Sharon Derrick; 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
