Leola Everett, age 92, of Oglesby passed away Friday, August 29, 2014. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Post Oak Cemetery in Oglesby. The family will receive visitors from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel in Gatesville. Leola was born on February 1, 1922 in Flat, Texas to the late Minnie Thompson Webb and Mid Avenger Webb. She attended school and lived in Flat until she met and married James Everett, Jr. of Oglesby in 1941. Leola gave birth to her pride and joy, James Stanley Everett, on December 2, 1953. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother. She was a natural musician, as well as an avid card and domino player. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Oglesby, where she sang in the choir for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Everett, Jr.; son, Stanley Everett; three sisters; and one brother. Leola is survived by her daughter-in-law, Jorene Everett of Oglesby; granddaughter, Kylie Everett of Oglesby; and grandson, James Scott Everett and wife, Kacey of Hewitt.
