Larry Evans Hughes

Larry Evans Hughes, age 75, of Gatesville passed away Monday, August 25, 2014. A graveside service was held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Restland Cemetery. Larry was born on July 8, 1939 in Knox City, Texas to J. Lyndel Hughes and Pauline Guggolz Hughes. He grew up and attended school in Roanoke, Texas, graduating from Northwest High School in 1957. He attended University of Texas, School of Pharmacy and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in 1961. He married Glenda Ruth Scott in 1962. Larry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Glenda Hughes; daughters, Misty Hughes Birdwell and Shelly Hughes Friederich and husband, Marek; grandchildren, Taylor Birdwell, Matthew Birdwell, Jacob Birdwell, Ashley Birdwell, Joseph Friederich, and Rachel Friederich; brothers, Lynn David Hughes and Ronald Paul Hughes; sisters, Nita Hughes Marbach and Carolyn Hughes Hill; and numerous nieces and nephews.
