Jackie Nell Loer

Jackie Nell Loer, age 83, passed away Sunday, September 14, 2014 surrounded by her family in Jonesboro. Graveside Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at the Jonesboro Cemetery. Visitation will be at Scott’s Funeral Home on Monday evening from 5-7 p.m. Jackie was born on February 8, 1931 in Coryell County to the late Estel Erbin and Commella Lenora Kemp Jackson. She grew up in the Turnover community, which is now Ft. Hood. After moving off The Camp, her family settled in Turnersville where she attended school. Jackie married George M. Loer, Jr. in 1947, and they raised one daughter in the Mountain and Gatesville Communities. She worked at Medical Plastics for 30 years before retiring to the Jonesboro Community. After retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family especially her great-grandchildren. Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Marshall Floyd Jackson, Ernesteen Jackson, and Esteen Jackson; one sister, Moran Virginia Jackson. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Ashby and husband, Seaborn K.; grandchildren, Tiffany Coble and husband, Russell, and Chris Ashby and wife, Angela; great-grandchildren, Cassidy and Keegan Coble, Caitlin and Braden Ashby, and Lauren, Katie and Ryan Kuzenka.
