Ronnie Joe Blanchard

Ronnie Joe Blanchard, 63, passed away at his home in Gatesville on Sunday, September 21, 2008. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, September 25, 2008 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at the Gatesville City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Ronnie was born on April 27, 1945 to the late A.D. and Murl Blanchard in Gatesville, Texas. He graduated from High School in 1963 in Coolidge, Arizona. After graduation Ronnie joined the Army and served during the Vietnam Conflict. Ronnie retired from Embarq in May of 2007 after 38 years with the company which started out as Gulf States Telephone Service. He and his wife, Reva, also owned Dyers Restaurant for 8 years. Ronnie was an avid collector of Antique Cars. He is survived by his wife, Reva Blanchard; step children, Denny Morgan and wife Jeanetta of Gatesville, Lyn Carter of Gatesville; brother, Thomas A. Blanchard and wife Bobbie of Gatesville; 8 grandchildren, Jeramy, Jenifer, Jason, Jodi Morgan and Ashley, Jarret, Adrian, Ashton Carter; 12 great grandchildren, 3 nieces and 2 nephews.
