Ed Schoenewolf

Ed Schoenewolf, age 88, of Groves, Texas passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Gatesville City Cemetery. There is no set time for visitation. Ed was born on May 29, 1926 in Gatesville, Texas to the late August Schoenewolf and Annie Bell Thomas Schoenewolf. Ed grew up in the Arnett Community of Coryell County. In 1954, Ed and his family moved to Groves, Texas. He worked for the City of Groves for 34 years. After retiring, Ed enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Floyd Schoenewolf; his parents; and five sisters. Ed was a longstanding member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Groves, Texas. He loved his family and friends very much. Ed is survived by his three daughters, Diane Young and husband, Michael of Jonesboro, Tina Olbrich and Judy Thompson, both of Groves; five grandchildren, Jason Young, Melissa Stansbury and husband, Mike, Ricky Thompson and wife, Randi, Jaclyn Olbrich, and Dillon Olbrich; and four great-grandchildren, Alex, Cameron, and Layla Stansbury, and Rylan Thompson.
