Charles A. Bond

Charles A. Bond, age 83, of Gatesville went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 1, 2014. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Greenbriar Cemetery. Charles was born on February 4, 1931 in Gatesville, Texas to the late Alvia Bond and Ruby Love Bond. He married Joyce Collier on July 5, 1951 at Evergreen Baptist Church in Hamilton County. He served his country in the U.S. Army after WW II, serving in Japan. He retired from civil service in 1975. He was an accomplished craftsman, very caring and loving dad, husband, and friend and will be missed greatly. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Trenton Fruge; and two sisters. Charles is survived by his wife, Joyce Bond; children, Rodney Bond and wife, Tanya, Cindy Wright and husband, Dewey, Sandra Culpepper, and Barbara Burson and husband, James; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and sister, Joyce Marie Hill.
