Peggy Ashby Creek

Peggy Ashby Creek, age 81, of Gatesville, passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at her residence. Services are scheduled for 1:00 PM Saturday, October 25, 2008 at The First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at The Masonic Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 PM Friday, at the funeral home. Peggy was born February 6, 1927 In Ireland, Texas. She was the daughter of Ernest B. Huckabee and Fannie Meyers Huckabee. She was a member of The First United Methodist church where she was very actively involved in various programs. Peggy served as secretary of the State Firemen’s Association and was a volunteer at the Gatesville Care Center. She was retired from the Texas Department of Transportation. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands: Robert Ashby and J. D. Creek, two brothers and one sister. Survivors include her son; Steve Ashby and wife Gail, grandchildren; Heather Myrick and husband Paul and Travis Ashby and wife Adria, great grandchildren: A. J., Steven and Taylor, two nieces and one nephew, numerous cousins and special friends. Memorials may be made to The First United Methodist Church.
