Abraham Lincoln "Butch" Barba

Butch Barba, age 91, of Henderson, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2014. Graveside Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Restland Cemetery in Gatesville. There is no set time for visitation. Butch was born on February 12, 1923 in Merino, CO to the late Pedro and Florentia Torres Barba. At an early age, Butch joined the United States Army and served during WW II. He served for four years before owning his wrecker service, Clearlake Wrecker Service in Kemah and Seabrook, Texas. After he retired, he moved to Henderson, Texas and enjoyed gardening and helping his neighbors and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; seven siblings; and a son, Charles Barba. Butch is survived by his son, Gary Barba and wife, Florence; daughter, Beverly Jones and husband, Bo; grandchildren, Shana Jones, Deda Potter, Lisa Lee, Christy Stevens, Kathie Jo Jones, and Jacob Ty Jones; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Angie Benavidez, Margie Coon, and Josie Velasquez; and one brother, Pete Barba. He also leaves behind his longtime caregiver and friend, Gloria Punch.
