Lillie Faye Fisher

Lillie Faye Fisher, age 90 of Austin, passed away on December 21, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 27, 2014 at the Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel, with Elder Lee O. Ford officiating. Burial will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Fisher was born on December 5, 1924 in Gatesville, to the late Lonnie and Jimmie Easley Caraway. She grew up in Gatesville and graduated from Moore High School in Waco. She married Sgt. Joseph R. Fisher and they spent some time in Germany in 1968 and 1969. They moved back to Gatesville in 1970 and he preceded her in death in 1973. She was a musician and played piano for choirs in central Texas as well as on the east coast. She was a nurse and worked at the V.A. Hospital for many years in Temple. She has resided in Austin for her last 20 years. She was respected and loved by many. She was also preceded in death by her son Donnie Ray Fisher in 2012. She leaves behind one son, Mike Fisher; three daughters, Sheila Fisher, Addie R. Lee, Pamela Thomas; four grandchildren, Shawn Dotson, Amber Lee, Seth Lee, and Alexis Fisher; six great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives to include her special cousin, Zella Davis.
