Louie Davis Powell, age 84, passed away Monday, November 10, 2008 in Livingston, Texas. Graveside Services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at Arnett Cemetery in Arnett, Texas. The family will receive visitors from 9 to 11 AM Wednesday at Scott’s Funeral Home in Gatesville. L.D. was born July 2, 1924. He married Hallie Blackstock on June 2, 1946 in Gatesville, Texas. They were married for over 57 years. He was preceded in death by his wife on August 24, 2003. Survivors include his children, L. D. Powell Jr., and wife Colleen; David Powell and wife Judy; Marcia Powell; brother, Robert Powell and wife Pat; brother-in-law, Dan Blackstock and wife Betty; grandchildren, Jeremy, Stephanie, Jason and Melanie Powell; Chris Powell and wife Jennifer, Jessica and Sarah Powell; Chris Johnson and Jennifer Johnson; great grandchildren, Dyllon Johnson, B. J. and Kimberly McLaughlin; nephew, Robert Wayne Powell and wife Aimee; great niece, Kaityln Powell and great nephew, Nicky Powell.
