Troy Lee Whisenhunt

Troy Lee Whisenhunt, age 58, of Gatesville passed away from this life Thursday, January 8, 2015. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Jonesboro Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Turnersville Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service. Troy Lee was born on October 27, 1956 to Troy Davis Whisenhunt and Martha “Pearl” Barnett Whisenhunt in Gatesville, Texas, the youngest of three children. He graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1975. After high school, Troy ran a shearing crew for over 20 years. He also farmed and ranched, as well as worked for the Hamilton Commission Company. He was a loving father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He took great pride in his three boys, Troy Lynn, Kevin Thomas, and Nicolas P.W. Whisenhunt. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and raising show sheep. In his younger years, he enjoyed volleyball and basketball. He was preceded in death by his father; daughter, Mandy Michelle Whisenhunt; and nephew, James Mark Baize. Troy Lee is survived by his mother; three boys and their wives; two sisters; four grandchildren; one niece; and multiple nephews.
