Nell M. Moore

Nell M. Moore, age 80 of Gatesville, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2015 in Gatesville. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at the Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel, 2425 E. Main St., with Joe Peebles officiating. Nell was born on October 17, 1934 in the White Hall community of Coryell County, to the late Buster and Bessie Harbin Graves. She graduated from Turnersville High School in 1953. She married James Lowery Summers, Sr. after high school. They had four children and he passed away in 1959, while on active duty in the US Army. She worked hard to raise her four children on her own. She worked at Career Girl in Waco for many years and for TDCJ at the Mountain View Unit for 20 years. She was Baptist. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Jackie Graves. She is survived by her daughters, Beverly Williams and husband, Larry and Faye Thomas; sons, James Lowery Summers, Jr. and wife, Sandy and Mike Summers and wife, Brenda; sister, Shirley Krog and husband, Paul; ten grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Memorials may be given to the individual’s favorite charity.
