Billie Derrick, of Gatesville, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2008 in Temple. Graveside Services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at Hemmeline Cemetery with his grandsons, Joshua Brown and Darrell McDonald officiating. Mr. Derrick was born on December 16, 1920 in Coryell County to the late T. L. and Mable Graham Derrick. He was raised and attended school in Pidcoke, Texas. Billie entered the Navy on August 19, 1942 and served in WWII until November 1, 1945. He then reentered the Air Force on January 23, 1951 and served during the Korean Conflict until his discharge on December 15, 1951. After his discharge he was a diesel mechanic working at Ft. Hood until he retired. He was preceded in death by his brother, A.T. Derrick and a sister, Louise Barron. Billie is survived by his daughter, Rebecah McDonald and husband Bob of Kempner; son, Mike Derrick of Copperas Cove; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 101 W Avenue F, Copperas Cove, Texas 76522
