Eunice “Mama Bank” Bankhead, loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Friday, January 30, 2015 in Gatesville, Texas at the age of 97. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, February 2, 2015 at Live Oak Baptist Church with burial following at Restland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 PM on Sunday at the funeral home. Eunice was born in Coryell County, Texas on December 8, 1917 to Richard and Martha (Crawford) Adams into a family of two brothers and one sister. She met the love of her life at a picnic in Coryell City, Jack Bankhead and they married on May 11, 1933. They worked side by side until Jack’s untimely death on January 26, 1981. Eunice was a woman of strong family values. Her faith in our Lord was evident and she was a member of the Live Oak Baptist Church in Gatesville, Texas. She fostered love and family values in all of her children and was loved by all who knew her. Her favorite activity was to spend time with family and attended pretty much every game, recital, picnic and general get together involving grand kids and family for as long as she was able. Eunice was preceded in death by husband Jack, parents Richard and Martha Crawford; son, Billy Bankhead; brothers, Earl and Lloyd Adams and a sister, Alma Clemons; great great grandson, Max Warren Moffett; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Bankhead Drake; grand daughter-in-law, Kathy Parker and grandson-in-law, Steve Burtchell. She is survived by children, Benny Bankhead, Jackie Whittenburg and husband, Marvin Dean, Beverly Shoaf and husband, Bill Shoaf, Deborah Parker and husband Jerry; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren and another great-great-grandson, due in March.
