Anita Swader

Anita Swader, age 74, of Gatesville passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Scott’s Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Ater Cemetery. A rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at the funeral home with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. Anita was born on December 1, 1940 in North Platte, Nebraska. She married Edgar Swader on February 14, 1986 and they were married for 28 years. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She attended Our Lady of Lourdes for many years. She was preceded in death by her step-father, George Stubbs; aunt, Angie Ortega; and uncle, John Ledesma. Anita is survived by her husband, Edgar Swader; mother, Dora Stubbs; daughters, Patricia Cherepes and husband, Randy Bates, Jessica Pierce and husband, Ronnie, and Lisa Davis, all of Gatesville; son, Peter Michael Garcia and wife, Dawn of Houston; brothers, Joe Peña and wife, Laura, Victor Peña, Ricky Peña and wife, Beverly, and Martin Peña; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who called her “Nanny”; and step-children, Laura Foley and James Swader.
