Pauline Chambers

Pauline Chambers, 94, of Gatesville, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2008. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 4, 2008 at the First Baptist Church of Gatesville with Dr. Steve Dominy officiating. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Pauline was born July 21, 1914 in Coryell County, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Gus Jones and Emma Powell Jones. Pauline married B. E. Chambers on December 25, 1938 in Gatesville, Texas. She worked with her husband at Brown & Chambers Grocery which later became Modern Foods. She was an active member of The First Baptist Church where she served as a counselor for the Girls Auxiliary and sang in The Joy Choir. She was active in the Mother’s Day Out program at First Baptist Church and she was a member of Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and siblings, Walter Jones, Buster Jones, Marvin Jones, Thurman Jones, Georgia Patterson, Nona Brown a Sonny Jones. Survivors include son: Jerry Chambers and wife Sandra of Houston, TX; daughter, Fonda Walsh and husband Bob of Mandeville, LA; sister, Gladys Mayhew; sisters-in-law, Sue Jones, Helen Lipsey and Polly Bunnell, grandchildren Lacey Chambers and Cody Chambers of Houston, TX. Memorials may be made to The First Baptist Church of Gatesville.
