Kenneth Alan McCauley, 81, of McGregor passed away on February 13, 2015 in Waco. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Oglesby with burial following at Post Oak Cemetery. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service at the church. Kenneth was born at home in Oglesby on March 15, 1933 to the late Rufus and Leota Gray McCauley. After graduating from Oglesby High School, he joined the United States Army and did a two year tour that took him all the way to Staten Island in New York, during the Korean War. Kenneth married Dicy Fay Shipley in 1980. He later moved back to Oglesby where he went to work at the Westview Manor Nursing Home for several years and eventually became a resident there for the past five years due to a sudden illness. Kenneth was well known for his friendliness. He was proud of all his “children”, though he never had children of his own, who consisted of nieces and nephews, including the great and great-great nieces and nephews over a period of 55 years. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Fay in 1984; and a brother, Robert William (Bobby) McCauley. Kenneth is survived by his sisters, Myrna Vandiver and family of Oglesby, TX, LaDonna Sue Gohlke and husband, Marcos and family of Victoria, TX; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends from Oglesby to Seadrift, Texas.
