Winifred Doris May Frattone, “Winnie” to all who loved her, age 90, died suddenly on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 in Rowlett, Texas. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Restland Cemetery with Minister Deral McWhorter officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 – 6:00 p.m., Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Scott’s Funeral Home. Winnie was born on July 1, 1924 to the late Ulla and Ettie Bates Franklin. Winnie had no children, but loved her nieces and nephew, and was always generous and thoughtful especially at Christmas when each child looked forward to seeing her and her special gifts. Winnie moved from Chicago several years ago to be near family in Texas, but kept in touch with her loved ones in the Chicago area. The girls in her family were envious of her beauty and youthfulness even as she got older. She was a joy to all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Frattone; parents, Ulla and Ettie Franklin; sisters, Dorothy Fay Ayres and Betty Taylor; infant sister, Freida; nephew, Robert Dale Ayres; and an infant daughter. Winnie is survived by her sister, Frankie Anderson and husband, Bob of Rockwall; nieces, Mary Reeter, Doris Turner, Patsy Kasting, Bobbie Tippit, and Teresa Lovett; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; step-daughter, Cathy Frattone and best friend and companion, Ed of Chicago.
