Nathaniel Wade Rice

Mr. Nathaniel (Nate) Wade Rice, age 66, of Gatesville, Texas passed away Friday, December 5, 2008. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at The Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 PM Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Rice was born December 23, 1941 in Bushyhead, OK. He was the son of Jess Nathaniel Rice and Louise Bell Rice. He retired after 24 ½ years in the Army from Fort Hood, Texas and made Central Texas his home. He was preceded in death by his parents. Nathaniel is survived by his wife; Sharon Cumbie Rice of Gatesville, two sons; Martin Rice (Sharon) of AL and Anthony Cumbie of Rosebud, TX, three daughters; Lynda Rice of Claremore, OK, Angela Cumbie of Rosebud, TX and Jennifer Owens of Watertown, NY, brother; Willard Rice of Claremore, Ok, sisters; Frances Dunham and Loretta Carter of Claremore, OK, grandchildren; Benjamin Collums-Rice, Alanna Bickle, Jesse Bickle, Kerney Pipkin and Hunter Cumbie. Honorary pallbearers will be brothers-in-law; James Black and Bill Black, grandsons; Hunter Cumbie, Kerney Pipkin, Jesse Bickel and Benjamin Collums-Rice.
