Vennie Lee

Vennie Lee, age 90, of Gatesville passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2015. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date at Flint Creek Cemetery. Vennie was born on March 2, 1924 in Coryell County, Texas to the late Johnny Taylor and Clara Tippit Taylor. She grew up in the Cold Springs community and attended school in Flat. She married Robert E. (Bob) Lee and they resided in Fort Gates most of their married life. He preceded her in death in 2004. She was a Life Master Bridge player. She was member of Cold Springs Baptist Church. She was also preceded by her sister, Wanda Schoenewolf; and granddaughter, Lisa Carole Lee. Vennie is survived by her son, Dwaine Lee and wife, Karen of Gatesville; sister, Donna Taylor of San Antonio; brother, Rob Taylor and wife, Ann of Dallas; four grandchildren, Charlotte Polk, John R. Lee and wife, Kathy, Honee Summers, and Lacee Lee-Hernandez and husband, Oscar; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Mound Cowboy Church, P.O.
