Karen Hooten

Karen Hooten, age 68 of Gatesville, passed away on Friday, March 06, 2015 in Gatesville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel, with Minister Deral McWhorter officiating. The family will receive visitors from 5 to 7 PM, Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Restland Cemetery. Karen was born on March 5, 1947 in Gatesville to the late Willis and Frances Curry Featherston. She grew up in Gatesville and graduated from Killeen High School in 1967. She was a LVN for many years at the Doris Miller VA Medical Center in Waco. She was a member of the West Main Church of Christ. She married Andrew Hooten in 1988 and he preceded her in death in 1990. She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Dickison of Waco and Shannon Kleshick and husband, Joey of Gatesville; son, Keith Reding and wife, Tina of Gatesville; brothers, Jack Featherston and wife, Margie of Ovilla and Kim Featherston and wife, Nola of Gatesville; three grandsons, Cody, Shaun and Duncan Kleshick; one great-grandson, Corbin Kleshick.
