Vickie Cahee

Vickie Cahee, 59, of Gatesville passed away on Friday, April 24, 2015 in Temple. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Scott’s Funeral Home. Vickie was born on March 7, 1956 in Waco, Texas to the late Obie and Clemmie Murphy Chatman. She graduated from Richfield High School in 1974. She continued her education at East Texas State University in Commerce, graduating with her Bachelor’s Degree in 1978, and then graduating with her Master’s Degree in 1995 from Prairie View A & M. Vickie worked for a 10 years at Mexia State School before starting her career of 20 years as a counselor at the Windham School System. She was a faithful member of Sweet Home Baptist Church for over 20 years. She enjoyed singing in the choir and will be remembered for having a beautiful solo alto voice. Vickie was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Mary Warren and Wanda Chatman. Vickie is survived by her special and devoted friend, Greg Roberts. She is also survived by her brothers, Robert Stanciel and wife, Brenda and Arthur Chatman and wife, Myrtle; special friends, Marion Riley and numerous church family friends; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sweet Home Baptist Church, 511 N. 14th Street, Gatesville, TX 76528.
