James B. Reed

James B. Reed, age 75 of Gatesville, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2015. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, May 4, 2015 at Eagle Springs Cemetery, near Oglesby. Memorial services will follow committal services Monday at 11:30 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Gatesville. James was born on January 13, 1940 in Bruceville-Eddy, Texas. He was the son of the late John B. and Clara A. Walter Reed. He grew up in Moody and moved as a child to Gatesville. James graduated from Gatesville High School in 1959. He was Sealed in marriage to Ruth Edwards Sanders. They resided in West Point, Mississippi, where he worked for the Babcock & Wilcox Company for many years. Ruth preceded him in death and he moved back to Gatesville in 1984 and went to work for Medical Plastics Laboratory, retiring after 18 years of service in 2005. He was Sealed in marriage to Sandra Deen Stallard in the Dallas Texas Temple in 1987. James was very talented and enjoyed creating things with his hands. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was preceded in death by a son, Tony Sanders; and brother, Walter Reed. He is survived by his wife, Sandy Reed; sons, Tommy Sanders and Tim Stallard; daughter, Debra Williams; sister, Nancy Johnson; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Memorials have been designated to the Eagle Springs Cemetery, P.O. Box 482, McGregor, TX 76657.
