Corlindia “Carol” Yarham Wallace, age 78, of Gatesville, Texas passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 in a Temple hospital. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 11th at 2 P.M. at the Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kurt Fuessel officiating. Burial will follow at the Greenbriar Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 P.M. on Saturday at the funeral home. Mrs. Wallace was born on January 14, 1930 in Pelaw, England to the late Ernest and Eleanor Flemming Curtis. She came to America on a ship from England in 1952. She married Robert “Bob” Wallace on April 12, 1953. She was a devoted wife and wonderful mother. Carol started Wallace Handbags in 1970. She was employed by the Texas Department of Corrections, working in Medical Records at the Mt. View and Hilltop Units. She was a member of Mountain Baptist church of Gatesville. She was preceded n death by her parents and one son, John Wallace. Mrs. Wallace is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Wallace; her children, Robert Wallace, Jr. and wife Suzanne; Alan Wallace and wife Selma; Kathryn Warren and husband David; Glenn Wallace and wife Tammy; David Wallace and wife Audra; and Brenda Fread and husband Ray; grandchildren, Arjay and wife Jennifer Cacy, Latham Cacy, Connor Cacy, Travis Hipp and wife Brandi, Courtney McClellan and husband Dardy, Ryan Warren and wife Nicole, Russell Wallace and wife Laura, Mark Wallace and fiancé Amy Magnelli, Scott Wallace, Kristen Lind and husband Justin, Jacob Moore, Nick Wallace, Eric Wallace, Ross Wallace, Matthew Wallace, Andrew Wallace, Katy Floyd and Coby Fread; and one great grandson, Aidan Wallace; brothers, Jack Curtis of Australia, Harry Curtis, Ernie Curtis, and Alan Curtis all of England. Memorials may be made to Mountain Baptist Church or to the Alzheimer’s Research Foundation.
