Ben Hering

Ben Hering, age 90, formerly of Hamilton passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2015. Graveside services will be 12:00 p.m., Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Restland Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Scott’s Funeral Home in Gatesville. Ben was born on December 3, 1924 in McGregor, Texas to the late Ben A. and Montry Carpenter Hering. He attended school in Slater and joined the United States Army and served for a brief time during WW II. He married the late Waldine Russell on May 2, 1947. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a sister, Lucille Bynum Ben is survived by his daughters, Rhonda Parsons and husband, Jay, Brenda Alton; sister, Henrietta Young; grandchildren, Gary Parsons, Cindra Wampler, Joey Hayes, Angela Guetzkow and Jessica Alton; and 7 great-grandchildren.
