Loy R. Lam, age 77, of Gatesville passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2015. Funeral Services will be at 10 AM Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Scott’s Funeral Home with burial following at Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 Tuesday at the funeral home. Loy was born on January 27, 1938 to the late Lloyd R. and May Beck Adkison. She grew up in Gatesville where she attended school. On January 9, 1953 she married H.M. Lam and they lived in Beaumont and Port Lavcaca before moving back to Gatesville later in 1953. Loy loved to read, write poetry, her flowers, working in her vegetable garden and to make the rounds on the ranch checking the cows. Loy also loved traveling with her husband in the camper, especially to Colorado and New Mexico. She thoroughly enjoyed the times she made grilled cheese sandwiches and sweet tea for her kids, grandkids and all their friends. She also enjoyed watching old movies and cooking shows. Loy made sure her puppies and kittens were loved and well fed. Most of all she loved all her family and loved to visit with them. Loy was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Marshall Lam. Loy is survived by her husband of 62 years, H.M. Lam; daughter, Daphne Bogle of Granbury; son, Buddy Lam and wife, Brenda of Gatesville, Mark Lam and wife, Lola of Gatesville; grandchildren, Cade Shoaf, Finace Bogle, Rachael Bogle, Marsha Bogle, Vicky Lam, Dustin Lam, Stephanie Glass and 11 great grandchildren.
